Joke and Funy Story Social

 
 
They say that laughter is the best medicine, 
well we sure enjoyed an afternoon of laughs at Tarrytowne Estates!
 
 
Resident gathered with jokes and stories to tell.


Pam Van Dyke, our Assistant Manager started the event with some of her favorite jokes!
She has a drawer full of them, she often walks around the dining room, telling jokes to the residents.
 
 
Hazel shared a joke about a cat....

 Bill told a funny story about an older driver.....

Phyllis told us a joke about too much partying....

Mildred shared a joke about Walmart being the biggest retailer....

Cliff read a joke about medication instructions....

Our very own, Stoney, was the standout of the event.  He must have told over 15 jokes. 
 Residents we laughing for the entire hour. 
 
The residents did a great job in bringing jokes and stories to tell. They had so much fun that they  asked Laura to schedule another social like this one in the future.

Galveston and lunch

Laura, our Actiivty Director, took the residents
on a historic tour of Galveston, Texas.        
 The residents learned the history of the island and some interesting facts.

         We had a great group for the outing.  Cheryl even felt well enough to travel with us.
  She is recovering nicely from her surgery.

Houston Songwriters Association

 
We were honored to have 4 areas songwriters come
out to Tarrytowne Estates and entertain our residents. 
They played some of their orginal songs and old standards. 
Residents sang along with the music and
listened to the singers, as they described their inspiration for the music.

Our Ladies get pampered by Mary Kay!

 
 
Ladies of Tarrytowne Estates were honored by
Mary Kay with a pampering session.
 
A great experience enjoyed by all!

Exercise Room Instruction

Peter Diana demonstrates one of the exercise machines in our Exercise Room.

 a month for new residents or a refresher course for our regular residents.

Our residents, both men and women were pampered and
 provided demostrations of some of the new products from Avon.

We celebrated all the wonderful ladies of Tarrytowne Estates with a elegant dinner, gift and  carnation.  Everyone enjoyed themselves, the meal was flavorful and special!

Lillies by the pond


The resdients are quite impressed with this
 grouping of lilies by the pond.  Some of the residents
 are so proud and pleased, that they are telling
everyone to walk out and see them.
 
They are quite beautiful!
