Mystery Trip - Historical Tour of Richmond and Rosenberg, Texas

Due to the Texas heat, we were forced to change our Bayou Wildlife Park trip.
Laura, our wonderful Activity Director decided on a last minute Mystery Trip.
She took us on a historical fact and scenic outing through Richmond and Rosenberg, Texas.  She provided a guided tour of the famous places and interesting facts in Fort Bend County.

Here are some of the sites....

Old Fort Bend Jail, it now houses the Richmond Police Department.

Morton Cemetery where many prominent Texas founding family members are buried.

Fort Bend County Courthouse

Moore House, one of the founding family homes in Richmond.

Cole Theater is being refurbished and will soon house the new Rosenberg Opry Company.

Some of the old store fronts in downtown Rosenberg.

We even stopped to check out the old Imperial Sugar Mill and Factory.

Mr. O'Connor was enjoying his peach cobbler at the Cracker Barrel.

Margaret Knighton was trying out the Strawberry Shortcake.

Gerry and Scotty Oakley split a strawberry shortcake.
